“Behold, the Virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel.”
Which means “God is with us.”

Summer 2011

“Bless the Lord O my soul; and all my being bless his holy name. He pardons all your iniquities; he heals all your ills. He redeems your life from destruction, he crowns you with kindness and compassion, he fills your lifetime with good; your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalm 103: 1 -5

My Dear Family in Christ,

I hope this letter finds you doing well and I hope you are enjoying some leisure time with your families during these summer months. Although this is the first newsletter since December, all is well with Healing Hidden Hurts ministry. It’s just been a very busy year and we lack resources for multiple newsletter mailings.

I hope you enjoyed April’s story in the newsletter, and are inspired to help those around you who are in need of healing. I also wanted to share with our readers another way you can help women begin the healing process. Offer them good reading material that is conducive to abortion healing. They will know you care!

These are two books I recommend. The Jericho Plan by David Reardon Ph.D., and Her Choice to Heal by Sydna Masse & Joan Phillips. These books are both short and very easy to read. Women will discover what they have in common with others who have had an abortion. Some may find their voice to share what they have never spoken. Many who have isolated themselves due to guilt and shame will find comfort when they realize they are not alone. The guilt they feel, the hurt they received, and the way they have been affected is normal among others who had abortions. And lastly, they receive assurance that they too are loved by God and can receive healing, for “the Son of Man has come to seek and save what was lost.”  Luke 19:10

If you had an abortion, whether it’s been 2 or 30 years ago, and you are suffering, know that God loves you and desires your healing! He knows all the circumstances surrounding the decision and understands all, even more clearly than yourself. Our late beloved holy father, Blessed Pope John Paul II wrote a beautiful letter to women in his encyclical Evangelium Vitae (The Gospel of Life). This is a brief excerpt of that letter and can be found in section 99 of that document. (Bold text added for emphasis.)

“I would now like to say a special word to women who have had an abortion. The church is aware of the many factors which may have influenced your decision, and she does not doubt that in many cases it was a painful and even shattering decision. The wound in your heart may not yet have healed. Certainly what happened was and remains terribly wrong. But do not give in to discouragement and do not lose hope. Try rather to understand what happened and face it honestly. If you have not already done so, give yourselves over with humility and trust to repentance. The Father of mercies is ready to give you his forgiveness and his peace in the sacrament of reconciliation. You will come to understand that nothing is definitively lost, and you will also be able to ask forgiveness from your child, who is now living in the Lord. With the friendly and expert help and advice of other people and as a result of your own painful experience, you can be among the most eloquent defenders of everyone’s right to life.”

Isn’t that comforting?  “Do not give in to discouragement…face it honestly … nothing is definitively lost… your child is now living in the Lord.”  Be consoled mothers, with the help and grace of God you may be reunited with your unborn children in Paradise.

If you are hurting, I would love to help you find consolation and peace. The Ten Step Program is a free Christ centered ministry for women that adapts to your individual needs. I have twelve years experience and would love to help you too!
May you receive the grace and the healing touch of Jesus, and may …. “He fill your lifetime with good, so your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

God bless,
Debbie Miller
